
Volkswagen is about to show a car that gets an astonishing 69.2 miles per gallon of fuel efficiency:
The car is a diesel-electric-hybrid that combines two of the most fuel efficient technologies. Thanks to this concept, the VW Golf TDI Hybrid will beat the ulgy Prius 40-45mpg by more than just a slim margin.
Diesel Engines are usually $2k-$3k more expensive than their gas burning cousins. Thanks to record fuel prices the savings will add up to that amount in a year or two, making this concept feasible.
It is one of the most exciting and promising new concepts. I just hope that VW will have the guts to go to production and to bring the car to the US.
